Tips for High Quality Personality

Following are some important tips for developing high quality personality
Self-awareness: The first step in developing a good personality is to be able to identify moods and feelings in ourselves and understand how these affect others. We may think of our own strengths and weaknesses in one way, and they may not be real. Personality development includes two steps: First identifying our own limitations, faults, behavioral flaws, errors, and mistakes and secondly, rectifying them. To err is human. To repeat it is stupidity. Self awareness also includes reinforcing, corroborating and strengthening our strong and powerful points.

Self-direction: It’s more important, to note that personality includes the capacity and willingness to change when circumstances demand. Suppose a road-side typist suddenly finds his job work collapsing as his customers preferred a sophisticated way of getting their work. The professional should either go to computer tying or change his job to some other profession, instead of logging on to the old traditions.

Self management: You may believe that you have certain strengths and weaknesses- but your beliefs may hinder your goals if others feel (or the truth is) that you actually have very different strengths and weaknesses. Once you become aware of your own emotions, strengths and weaknesses, you can begin to think about how to manage and apply them to help you achieve your goals. When you are feeling low, you can lift your mood to get on with whatever you need to do. But what are your goals? Do you want to be the best student? Good sportsman in your college? Or at a later stage do you want more money and a big office? Do you want to be the boss or your boss’s boss? Or do you have ambitions of making a contribution to society? Unless you are aware of what your goals are, why you want them, and how you are going to achieve them, you will not reach them.

Intra personal savvy: The fourth step is to become a master of your intelligence and increase your capacity to combat your emotional stress like depression; agony etc. Develop your strengths. Do you know that you are better than a million people in this world? It can be gardening, painting, cooking, or even maintaining human relations or intelligence. ‘Knowledge’ is…. acquiring everyday something that is necessary. Wisdom is loosing an unnecessary thing everyday.

Inter personal savvy: Talking and listening are the basics of interpersonal relationships. Many people do not express themselves clearly. What they want to say may not be what they end up saying. Especially when they are emotional, they may garble their words and mix their messages. Summarizing and paraphrasing shows that you are listening. It gives the speaker ongoing feedback and encouragement to keep talking.
